Vinícius Serafim
Partner & Consultant
Academic Background and Professional Experience
He holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and has built a solid career as an Information Security consultant and university professor. Since 1999, he has been dedicated to teaching in extension, undergraduate, and graduate programs, focusing on Information Security and TCP/IP Networks.
Academic Experience
Over the years, he has had the opportunity to teach at several higher education institutions, including: Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), University of Passo Fundo (UPF), University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS), University of Caxias do Sul (UCS), Lutheran University of Brazil (ULBRA), and Sociedade Educacional Três de Maio (Setrem).
Information Security Consulting
Since 2001, he has worked as an Information Security consultant. Initially, he provided services through UFRGS/FAURGS and UNISINOS. Today, he leads his own consulting firm, with over 20 years of experience in the field. His work is driven by the continuous pursuit of innovative and effective solutions to protect data and systems in an ever-evolving technological landscape.
Guilherme Damasio Goulart
Partner & Consultant
In academia, he holds a Doctorate and Master's degree in Law from UFRGS. He has taught classes, delivered lectures, and led seminars on Technology Law and Information Security at numerous institutions across Brazil. He served as a visiting professor in the Consumer Law and Fundamental Rights Specialization and in the International Law Specialization programs, both at UFRGS. Internationally, he participated as a lecturer in the IV, V, and VI editions of the Luso-Brazilian Course on Electronic Law and in the Luso-Brazilian Conference of the Center for Private Law Research (CIDP), both held at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. He served as an ad-hoc consultant to the Brazilian Ministry of Justice in a technical meeting on the Public Debate on the Data Protection Bill in 2015. He was invited to speak at the 1st Meeting of Data Protection Officers held by the Brazilian Data Protection Authority (ANPD) in 2024. He was also invited to participate in the VI Privacy Seminar of CGI and the 12th Brazilian Internet Forum. He currently teaches Property Law and Obligations Law in the undergraduate law program at Cesuca.
He has been a consultant at BrownPipe since 2012, working on activities such as: IT policy development; Information Security and personal data protection audits (in accordance with the ISO 27000 family of standards); issuing expert opinions on personal data protection and information security; risk analysis in IT and Information Security activities; and general consulting to guide Information Security practices and LGPD compliance.
